What is the outlook for the automotive parts industry?

The automotive parts industry is the downstream sector of the automotive industry. In today’s era of rapid development in the automotive industry, the automotive parts industry has also seized an opportunity for rapid growth, accounting for a 39% market share.
Statistical data show that both domestic automobile production and sales have been increasing year by year. The domestic automotive market has enormous growth potential, and all major car brands recognize that the Chinese automotive market is a huge opportunity—each one is now actively establishing a strong presence in this market.
The 12th Five-Year Plan has set the tone for the development of both domestic and international automotive brands. Whether it’s the mid-term plans of global automakers or the five-year plans of domestic automotive groups, these plans are not formulated arbitrarily—they are all closely aligned with the government’s own planning initiatives.
In 2015, the production and sales targets of state-owned automobile groups reached 28 million vehicles, while the production and sales of domestically branded automobiles totaled nearly 12 million vehicles. The total automobile sales volume for 2015 alone amounted to 40 million vehicles.
These data all point to one key issue: China’s automotive manufacturing industry is already on the fast track of rapid development, and as a result, the automotive parts market—the aftermarket—will soon enter its own golden age. However, compared to the mature automotive market in countries like the U.S., in China’s domestic automotive market, manufacturing holds the largest share, followed by parts, while services account for only a relatively small proportion.
